The first installment of our South American trip saw us travelling through Ecuador with Sam and Anna. First stop, Quito then Quilatoa circuit with awesome hiking and volcanic lakes. Next stop was Cotopaxi, riding for the girls and climbing for the boys.

Gothenburg - Sweden, September 2006
Sweden is a beautiful country, I've always wanted to go since meeting Nicholas, a Swedish mate from primary school in Bondi, Sydney. Nicholas turned up to school in year 4 and was about 1 foot taller than everyone else, and seemed to be 20 times stronger. Now I've grown up and things are in perspective, but it was still nice to go check out Sweden's culture which confirmed everyone is a bit bigger, and a bit blonder than here in the UK.
Sweden lived up to what I thought it would be, a friendly, clean place with a undercurrent of coolness which seeps from the design culture that is everywhere in the shops, museums and architecture.
Cobble stoned streets, quirky cafes, interesting museums and good shopping was had by all.
